Steward Registration
Any business that supplies, distributes or sells packaged products or printed paper in Manitoba may be affected by new provincial legislation that goes into effect April 1. The Packaging and Printed Paper Stewardship Regulation requires affected companies to register as product stewards and to remit fees that are used to cover up to 80% of the cost of municipal recycling programs. View the document Rules for Stewards for a glossary of terms and the rules by which stewards must register and report their obligations. To find out if your company must register and pay fees, view our guidebook: Are You Obligated?
